Warm up seasonal sketches and public thanks

December 12, 2008

First up I want to thank Jon over at OTRCAT.com for his package! Cool now I have a whole disk of Jack Benny Christmas shows on mp3 to listen to while I’m working. Be sure to check out all those OTR shows and order them for your relatives they make great gifts for this time of year.

I’ve been listening to all kinds of odd OTR radio shows out of places like “Yesterday USA” while working buizzed-bully over here at the RevoluTuck Studios. The demands are really flooding in right now. Here is a page of warm up sketches I worked up, both in 1940s girl feel.

LOS ANGELES (AP)

1950s pin-up queen Bettie Page is very sick. She was about to be released from a hospital last week after recovering from pneumonia, when she had a heart attack and went into a coma. She’s 85.

Page was a top student who became a secretary and then went into modeling. She hoped to become a mainstream actress. With her trademark short dark bangs, her photos included a centerfold in the January 1955 issue of Playboy magazine. But it was her bondage poses that made her the target of a Senate hearing on obscenity the same year. She never had to testify.

Page was out of the public eye for decades. During that time she became a born-again Christian and had a bout with mental illness. Page resurfaced in the 1990s and occasionally granted interviews but refused to allow her picture to be taken. She told the Los Angeles Times in a March 2006 interview she wanted to be remembered as she was when she was young and in her “golden times.”

Holy Crap, it’s STILL THERE!

December 11, 2008

Daym, I stopped subscribing to this podcast provider over 3 years ago! IT’S STILL THERE AND WORKING!

“The TuckerMike Program”

This was my old long dead and forgotten Old Time Radio comedy podcast series. I did it for 2 years. It was part of a OTR podcast network. I never really knew how well I was getting promoted or is many were even subscribed and listening, because my feedback on it was maybe 2%.So it fell out of interest for me.

But it was my self taught training ground for how to do Internet radio, use the audio software and be an on air personality. Many of there on the libsyn page are a few months along so it’s not as shaky. Before these, I had the network head put together the final version for air and made it sound worse then my own horrible version, was already.

Go Christmas Shopping With Jack Benny

December 10, 2008

Hiya fellers, Jon over at OTRCAT.com (see previous entry) Told me that he has a special rate available on his wonderful put together collection of “Jack Benny Christmas”.
bennysantaviolin
I bring it up only because “The Jack Benny Show” has to be one of my all time favorites. and the Christmas shopping episodes that were done every year are an institution. So that’s pretty cool to get all of them in one collection. Ortcat is always updating and getting the better quality versions, and also digging up a lot of thought lost episodes too. So if you think all this shit is old.. Well, if you never herd it before, then it’s fresh and new, right?

Oh, and also for you little spoiled rat bastards: unlike all those “stale old moves that are in black and white,” that you still refuse to watch. Old Time Radio shows are all in full spectrum color and in HD!
