I just got a suprise in the email, not 1 but 2 new Muck Sticky CDs will feature my art. “Hangin’ With My Bud” and “For The Kids”.
ORDER THEM ALL HERE!
Anybody else know of this band? High energy lo-fi sampling, feel good big horns, Super 8 home movie style visuals, high school assembly vibe.
Here is some of the imagery that still survives in my original sketchbooks from that crazy period of ’97-’99. This is stuff for my psychedelic deejay troupe that I had named “Acid Babies”.
I found another great pic of the ladies, Miss Mary and Miss Julie..
*warning: Be careful if you go back stage at the New Daisy in Memphis, because “THE STICKY MONSTER’S GONNA EAT YA!!”
Momma Sticky still lookin’ good!
Your thoughts? It’s supposed to be for a band cd cover..I just dunno yet..
I’m feeling better about this now….
I’ve been on a bit of a “Hawkwind” kick again lately. Crazed UK, heavy riffling, acid band that peaked in the early 1970s. I’ve really got my imagination going. Check out this stuff. How insane would it be if someone was to take a page from this stuff and create some kind of neo-psychedelic space rock extravaganza around here? Mine you these were hippies fueled mostly on acid and totally out of their fucking noggins.
“Silver Machine” would be the what they’re best known for.
Some excerpts from a really cool documentary on the band and during their most interesting time when that still had Lemmy (from Moterhead) and the amazon nude dancer Stacia.
Found this in concert footage from later on in ’84.. Different line up, but still very entranced in the spirit of a live show in an outdoor festival.
